Including a new Performing Arts Center, environmental classroom, and outstanding athletic facilities.Whether it's in the classroom, on the theatrical stage, or on the athletic field, the 84-acre KML campus provides a great environment for student achievement. Several recent major building projects have provided even more opportunity for students to excel academically and in their preferred co-curricular activities.
In 2013, we dedicated our PAC. This 750-seat Performing Arts Center features a 3,750 square-foot stage with professional stage lights, scenery shop, full orchestra pit, dressing rooms, and a ticket booth. The beautiful facility also includes a fine arts academic wing with band and choral rooms, five practice rooms, an ensemble room, and two workshops.
Our expansive property provides an amazing outdoor center for learning. Called the Environmental Classroom, this 16-acre living laboratory on the northern edge of campus includes ponds, wetlands, and prairie fields planted with native vegetation. The Environmental Classroom is utilized extensively by students in Biology and AP Environmental Science courses.
Solar Energy Project
Our students are able to monitor daily energy usage and energy production from our solar panel system. In this way, students learn to manage and care for the world around them.
The KML campus includes a weather station that is currently used by AP Science students. The weather station is in partnership with Fox 6 News and Weatherbug.
